Aurora
Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1995 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase as AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well received by music blogs. She has previously recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by the group Oasis for a Christmas advertisement by John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry posted a video in which she endorsed Runaway. The endorsement earned her some attention. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding the piano in the attic of her home, and being captivated by the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music, not for an income or as a pastime and as a way to develop. Her parents advised her to compose. Her sources include noted authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love for Bjork's style. After her mom told her that her songs would not just help her gain fame, and also inspire others to see their significance in the world and realize the possibilities for her songs She decided to start playing in front of the public. At age 6 she started playing the piano. At age nine, she began writing her own songs. It was unknown to her family until she was fourteen. Aurora's fame was not the goal of her. The only thing she loves is writing music. For her, music is the most effective way to feel anything.
